Happy Monday sweet friends!
The Monday’s are getting a little easier to handle…. when we only have ONE Monday left! Say what?!
Yep… it’s the end of the year….as we know it! (are you singing in your head?!)
The end of the year comes with a lot of different emotions…. I mean we as teachers are so very excited to NOT set our alarms in the summer, have pajamas as our main clothing item, and soak up some relaxation before we do it all over again! BUT…. we have to say goodbye to our sweet little kiddos we have been with daily for the past 170+ days, teaching them new information and seeing them transform into the little smarties they are!
The end of the year is the perfect time to reflect on our favorite events from the year, what we liked the most, the least, and everything in between. We remember the good times and try to forget the not-so-good times (we’ve all had them as a teacher!) But our students only get this ONE year with us (for the most part!) and we want them to take a keepsake (or three…. or eight) with them to help them cherish the memories of this particular grade level.
I have been blessed to teach kindergarten this year (which I absolutely LOVE)…. but for many of my students… it their very FIRST year of school. Their first year away from mommy, their first year with a structured schedule…. the first of many things! I definitely want them to remember their VERY FIRST year of school!
So…. I have a few activities that we will be doing throughout the last few days of school (we have 11!) so that my students will keep the memories with them for years to come!

This past weekend the hubby and I ventured out to Lowe’s (I love that place!) and I ever-so non-nonchalantly grabbed a few (about 50!) paint samples! Yes…. I was looking those colors up and down as if I were about to take on a big project at my house… but you know us teachers… we have different plans!
This little keepsake is SUPER easy!!!!
