Welcome to mid-July… where the sun is HOT, the back-to-school supplies and ads are in full force… and you probably know exactly how many days you have left until you step back inside the four walls of your classroom again.
Well have no fear….. this post is here to help you AND make you feel a little better about that Back-To-School prep!
A few weeks ago I was browsing on Amazon…. planning for some back-to-school activities and summer conference presentations…and after a few clicks through some of my favorite classroom products, I stumbled upon some new and FUN products!
I’m sure you have all seen the task card rainbow boxes from Michael’s (I know they fill my social media feed often!)…. but I personally am not into all the rainbow colors mixed together. (i know…. a little weird!)
Anyways…. while clicking through Amazon, I stumbled upon these 5 x 7 photo CLEAR boxes. (a pack of TEN I might add!) and put them in my cart immediately!
A few clicks later… I came across packs of scrabble tiles and IMMEDIATELY knew… I needed those as well. I now have the PERFECT station activities 🙂
I shared a few of these activities during the I Teach K! conference this past week in Vegas and now I wanted to share them with all of YOU!
Included in this FUN and FREE task card download… you will find these activities:
12 Beginning Sound Picture Cards – Each card included THREE pictures. Students will identify the beginning sound and place the tile that matched onto the picture. (you can use any form of letters for this activity – scrabble tiles, magnetic letters, etc…)
You can even extend the activity by having students find the value of each sound (great thing about using the scrabble tiles that include a number!)
Another FUN and FREE activity that you will find in this download is letter matching (capital letter to lowercase letter)
I have included 8 different alphabet matching cards (each with 8 lowercase letters). Students simply identify the lowercase letter and match the capital scrabble tile and pair together!
I just simply print the cards onto Astrobrights paper!
I’ve realized that there are SO MANY ways that I can use these clear boxes and scrabble tiles (math… word work… alphabet…. etc…) throughout the entire school year!
